I had a fantastic day today getting to know all of you my new Bay High students. I appreciate those of you who were very respectful and welcoming to me. I loved talking to you and look forward to getting to know you better.
It makes me feel that we can accomplish great things together. It got me thinking about all the things I have accomplished in my life. I pIay an instrument, am raising a beautiful child, , I was teacher of the Year 2002, and I have a college degree to name some.
If you think about it, it is human nature to go after those challenges that appeal to us, that we like. So it should not be surprising that maybe I did not accomplish running a marathon because I an not big on sweating, learning to hang glide because I am afraid of heights, or learning Latin because it is just too hard and boring.
So maybe you guys can't be expected to learn the subjects we teach just because you should learn them. I want to help you to learn environmental science, so I need to know from you, what do you like about science? Don't say nothing because science is all around us. There has to be something you like about science or you'd like to learn about in science. Comments????????
